Tips to encourage your children to love reading

Does your child love to read? The more they read, the more they know.

Reading with your child is a great way to bond and help them to love books. Check out the simple ways for parents to encourage their child to love reading.

• Let your child choose books that interest them and help them to choose age-appropriate books.

• Read to your child.

• Read aloud to your child. You can use different voices for the various characters.

• Show interest in your child's reading.

• Talk about what you are reading.

• Show your child that you enjoy reading. Be a reading model.

• Go to the library.

• Encourage eBooks.

• Make use of gadgets and creative apps. You can install useful reading apps in smartphones or tablets.

• Set up a family reading ritual.
