Must read in Year 2

Looking and searching for a good book to read with your Year 2 child? Check this out!

The Troll by Julia Donaldson and David Roberts is a children's story about a toll and some pirates. The troll in this story is based on the troll from the Three Billy Goats Gruff fairy tale.

Green Eggs and Ham is a children's book by Dr. Seuss, first published on August 12, 1960. With unmistakable characters and signature rhymes, Dr. Seuss's beloved favourite has cemented it's place as a children's classic. Follow Sam-I-am as he insists that this unusual treat is indeed a delectable snack to be savoured everywhere and in every way.

This remarkably moving picture book follows first-grader Hassan through his very first few days a school. Hassan has only recently arrived in the United States after he and his family were forced to flee Somalia, and he deeply misses the colourful landscape of his former home in Africa.

Ellie is horrified when Tuffy keeps dragging dead creatures into the house. Tuffy can't understand what the fuss is about. Can soft-hearted Ellie manage to get her pet to change his wild, wild ways? The hilarious antics of Tuffy and his humans are told by the killer cat himself.

Everyday, John Patrick sets off along the road to school, and although he hurries, strange and improbable happenings repeatedly make him late. To make things worse, his teacher never believe his story.
