Christmas books you might enjoy!

We are nearly end of Term 1 in Garden International School. Soon, it will be Christmas. Here are the list of book you might enjoy during Christmas break.

When a little red mitten suddenly appears in the forest, all the animals aren't quite sure that it is. They do realize that it's rather cozy inside the mitten, so one by one, they crawl inside. The mitten keeps on stretching to include more animals - even a bear! How many of them will be fit in there?

Everyone on Whoville celebrates the holiday season with joy and happiness, toys ad feasting. Except Grinch. His heart happens to be two sizes too small, and he's less than excited about the coming festival. So what does he do? On the eve of the big day, he dresses as Santa and steals Christmas! Or does he? Through the prickly old Grinch, Dr. Seuss shows everyone what that special time of the season really means, and it's much more than presents and food.

A book that quickly became a classic (and then a movie), it's the story of one boy whose name we never learn as he steps onto a magical train that heads straight to the North Pole. It is there he meets Santa Claus himself and learns what it really means to believe.

Bears snooze all through winter, but the other animals of the forest want Bear to experience the joy of the holiday season. So they wake him up! For the first time, Bear stays awake and gets to bake sweets, hang stockings, and enjoy the company of all his friends. When everyone else finally falls asleep, Bear plans a special surprise of his own.

Ho, ho, ho! I love Christmas in New Mouse City. But this year, Grandfather William wanted me to research a new story. He asked me to dress up like Santa Claus and let lots of little mouselets sit on my lap. Cheese niblets! If only I had my own team of reindeer and could fly far, far away...

It's Christmas and Daisy has been given an actual part in an actual school play! She has special lines to learn and even a special costume to wear. Trouble is... there's something about baby Jesus that isn't quite special enough.

Martin's parents are strapped for cash : it's going to be a budget Christmas this year. So Martin plans to buy his own presents - and attempts, unsuccessfully, to get a job. Padraic puts in a word for him with his Auntie Bridget, who runs the local butcher's shop. But her shop is struggling as the fish shop across the road undercuts her and Bridget just can't compete. No one knows how the owner,  Francie Feeley, does it - especially since he doesn't seem to employ anyone at his fish factory. Intrigued, Martin decides to go undercover and find out the truth. Martin infiltrates the factory and discovers that Francie is illegally employing a gang of Brazilian fish-gutters. Will Christmas be ruined for the whole of Boyle?

We have a lot of Christmas theme books in Primary Library. Do pop in when you are free and borrow some of them for your Christmas break. Enjoy!
